does that mean hes from the past does he know ur mom
[ Is it cool to ask that? There's no point wondering if he sends the text anyway though...
This has become a lot more complex than what he thought. He can't imagine seeing someone so important to him being unable to recognise him. It certainly won't feel good, at the very least. ]
He's probably just from another universe. There are a lot of them, and he's not the first Dad I've seen from a different one. He knows my mom though, yeah. Or at least his version of her, who looks different than Mom.
[ Well that's... complex, but he can sort of get it as he has considered the idea before. In fact, it confirms his suspicion about the possibility of having another him at some other universes. So his theory about what happened back in the tower was not at all baseless! He can definitely tell Sakamoto that later. ]
as long as u r
does she know how she got here
[ It's weird to consider in retrospect that he's never thought about asking people this before. But the moment he finds out Jon's mother is here, it's like... he feels the need to help them return to their world. The urgency is different, somehow. Maybe they can get some clues in. ]
im real glad shes here tho u must have a lot to tell her
( considering the clark kent jon is familiar with isn't even the universe he grew up in's original clark, it's. not that unusual, or weird. he's mildly used to the concept, even if jon only knew about it shortly before arriving in wonderland. regardless of whether or not this clark is the one who helped raise him: he's still kind, caring, compassionate, still someone jon looks up to and admires. )
I don't think anyone knows how they got here, really. She doesn't. A lot happened but I'm not sure if I should tell her all of it, you know? She's worried enough without me telling her about the invisible dogs or the last six months of my life. Dad isn't here so I've got to protect her. And I don't think making her worried is helping protect her any.
[ Even if he can't relate very well with their specific relationship, he can surely understand the need to keep certain things a secret to protect someone you care for. ]
nothin wrong with preparing her about some stuff too tho i think shell be more worried if she suddenly saw you in danger or somethin we never know whats gonna happen next here
[ Yeah, he knows. He knows how much Jon cares for people, how much he's willing to help them out, how strong he can be physically and mentally. ]
i know shes important but u r too so dont do anythin rash ya hear
[ It's both relieving and... frustrating to know that someone else's got Jon's back. Relieving, because Mondo is aware that he doesn't always have the power to protect those he cares for here, especially with Jon being the stronger one. But that's also why it's frustrating. He's not frustrated at Jon, nor at the others. He's frustrated in himself, in his powerlessness.
Catching himself nearly apologising in the text, he deletes that portion and quickly hits send. What matters now is how he can be of any help despite that. It's his homework to figure that out. ]
( mondo is a great person. jon is--absolutely certain of that, and this conversation really just seats that believe in harder. he's trying to help, trying to protect jon, his family. )
[ When Mondo reads Jon's text, his grasp on the device tightens. If this was a couple of months ago, he'd probably say that he wouldn't let anything happen to Jon. But the reality has showed him otherwise ー he, out of all people, won't be able to guarantee that. ]
of course
[ Even so, he'll do everything and anything for Jon and his family. ]
